Bladee has officially released his new album Sulfur Surfer, continuing the ever-evolving artistic trajectory that has made him one of the most influential and enigmatic figures in experimental rap and internet-born music culture.
The project was produced alongside longtime collaborator and fellow Drain Gang member Whitearmor, whose atmospheric and emotionally weightless production remains deeply intertwined with Bladee’s sound. The album also features an appearance from legendary experimental group Current 93, further reinforcing the project’s surreal and boundary-pushing sonic identity.
Sulfur Surfer includes the previously released single “Blondie,” which arrived last week alongside a cryptic new music video that continued Bladee’s signature blend of dreamlike imagery, emotional abstraction, and internet-era mythology.
To celebrate the release, Bladee will return to his hometown of Stockholm this week for two intimate performances at the historic Orion Theatre. The shows arrive as a rare opportunity to experience the project in a more personal setting before he embarks on a packed international festival run throughout the summer.
Upcoming performances include appearances at CONTRA in Berlin, Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash in Chicago, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, and Boiler Room in London later this summer.
Born and raised in Stockholm, Bladee first emerged in 2013 with a sound that felt entirely detached from conventional rap structures. Pulling from fragmented internet aesthetics, emotional vulnerability, cloud rap, ambient textures, and experimental pop, he helped pioneer a new generation of genreless online music alongside the broader Drain Gang collective, including Thaiboy Digital, Ecco2k, and Whitearmor.
Over the years, Bladee has cultivated a reputation as one of contemporary music’s most elusive artists.
