R3HAB has officially unveiled his third studio album, Dream inside a dream…, out now via Universal Music. This project marks a significant milestone for the Dutch-Moroccan producer, serving as his most personal body of work to date and his first full-length release in several years.
The 12-track collection navigates an emotional landscape defined by themes of love, loneliness, gratitude, and self-discovery. At its core, the album addresses a poignant question: what happens to an artist after the dreams they spent their entire career chasing finally become reality? Having spent over fifteen years commanding festival stages and accumulating billions of streams, R3HAB—born Fadil El Ghoul—uses this record to turn his creative lens inward.
Each composition functions as a distinct emotional chapter. The album opens with a guided meditation from Jason Stephenson, transitioning into the deep house track ‘I had a dream…’, which features Izzy Bizu. The song captures the disorienting, surreal moment when a lifelong ambition is realized. The narrative continues with ‘Right here…’, a notable track where R3HAB provides his own vocals for the first time, followed by the euphoric ‘Lost in translation…’.
The album’s emotional center, ‘More than enough…’, utilizes sparse, pulsing melodies that build into expansive, glowing synths. R3HAB also pays homage to his heritage on ‘All I am…’, which incorporates traditional Moroccan snake charmer flutes alongside vocalist Orem. Orem later returns for ‘Watch my heart go…’, a track that juxtaposes dark, atmospheric textures with high-energy festival production.
The title track, ‘Dream inside a dream…’, serves as the project’s cornerstone. R3HAB describes it as a reminder to remain present and thankful, even after achieving early career goals. ‘The way that dreams inspire more dreams now has me feeling like I’m living a dream inside a dream,’ he stated. ‘But life keeps giving, and every new season brings dreams of its own.’
With a career that includes consistent placements on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list and remixes for global icons like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Steve Aoki, R3HAB continues to solidify his legacy.
