Over the course of the last two-plus decades, the German-born DJ, musician, and composer Marc Romboy is a name that has become synonymous with soulful electronic music. This is a sound that has taken him all over the world. Similarly, this is also something that could be said about his longtime collaborator, Stephan Bodzin. In February of 2008, they released a tune together by the name of ‘Atlas‘. Now, fourteen years later, this same tune is getting a reimagining by none other than Shall Ocin, & Artbat. If you’re a fan of any of these four artists, this is a tune that you need to listen to.
The Shall Ocin & Artbat remix of Romboy & Bodzin’s Atlas is a smooth one. It starts off quickly with nothing but a kick drum, a bassline, and some hi-hats. Soon after we start to get some synths, and before we know it is off to the races. With this being a melodic techno/house track it’s natural for the tune to progress over time. In familiar Shall Ocin & Artbat fashion, this track does just that. This remix is filled to the brim with cinematic breakdowns, brooding synths, and smooth, in-your-face synths. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, I highly recommend giving it a listen, or two.
With a run time of six minutes & twenty seconds, this is a tune that we can’t get enough of. Having said that, this remix is the perfect amount of time to get lost in.
