Violet Days Releases Her Captivating New EP 'Everything's Coming Up Roses'

Violet Days is the musical project of Swedish singer-songwriter Lina Hansson alongside the help of producer and longtime collaborator Kris Eriksson. Together the duo craft irresistible and dreamy left-of-center pop filled with lush cinematic textures. Violet Days has just released her highly anticipated new EP Everything’s Coming Up Roses.

The six-track musical oasis narrates transformative themes including finding hope, leaning into escapism and ultimately reconnecting with who you really are. The EP opens with the track “The Urge To Disappear”, a whimsical and infectious song with an anthemic chorus. Despite the upbeat sonics, the track has a darker meaning as she details feelings of wanting to escape, isolate from others and the exhaustion that often comes with modern life. She sings, “What if I could drop it all and leave? / Friendships are like a narcissist,” perfectly capturing the song’s conflicted emotional landscape.

Then there is “Don’t Ruin Love”, a layered sonic embrace complete with lush acoustic guitar, breathtakingly beautiful vocals and gliding melodies. The single details a deep longing and pain after the end of a relationship. Lyrics including, “You haunt me like a ghost (Haunt me like a ghost) / When everything I know (Is going to explode),” beautifully illustrate the lingering emotional turmoil that comes with trying to let go of someone who still occupies so much space in your mind.

Another highlight is the title track, “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” an invigorating Alt-Pop banger featuring driving beats, deep bass, shimmery synths, and indie-rock-inspired guitars. The song showcases what Violet Days does best: creating irresistible pop earworms with an experimental edge while maintaining a deeply emotional core. There is an undeniable sense of forward momentum throughout the track, making it feel like a musical declaration of hope after everything that has come before.

Elsewhere, Violet Days continues to explore the tension between melancholy and optimism, creating songs that are simultaneously euphoric and vulnerable. Hansson’s captivating vocals remain at the center of the project, effortlessly shifting between intimate vulnerability and soaring pop grandeur. Her ability to pair emotionally complex songwriting with colorful, immersive production gives the EP a distinctive identity.

With Everything’s Coming Up Roses, Violet Days has created an immersive collection. From infectious alt-pop anthems to shimmering, emotionally charged moments, the EP showcases an artist who understands how to turn vulnerability into something vibrant and captivating. This is a gorgeous release from Violet Days, one that finds beauty in the messiness of life while reminding us that, sometimes, brighter days really are waiting just around the corner.
