The EDM superstar is about to conquer yet another summit in his career (no pun intended).
The name should sound familiar already: John Summit. You might know him from his take on The Mamas & The Papas’ ‘California Dreamin’ ‘, his single ‘Deep End‘, or his Kx5’s ‘Escape’ remix. The thing is, this young producer has absolutely swept the floor on the Tech House scene. Out of his countless gigs so far, randomly picking some of his most recent ones we run into Zamna Tulum, EDC Las Vegas 2022, and the just-out-of-the-oven Moonrise Festival lineup, to take place this August in Baltimore.
It’s now, the moment in time in which he sees to be atop the mountain and in search of new heights, that we are presented with yet another milestone conquered by Summit: he’s playing his first BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. This section of Radio 1 is one born 30 years ago, today hosted weekly by living legend Pete Tong, and through which an unfathomable amount of DJs and producers have had their two-hour episode to express themselves. Acts who have been part of the Essential Mix series are names such as Sasha & John Digweed, Above & Beyond, Flying Lotus, Eric Prydz, and Swedish House Mafia, to name a few.
