Gender Amplified, the 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to amplifying women and gender-expansive producers, has released their first-ever EP, In Bloom, out now via Warner Music Group’s independent distribution arm, ADA. This dreamy, genre-blurring three-track project is a testament to Gender Amplified’s mission of fostering inclusivity in music production through community-driven songwriting and production camps, live events, recording initiatives, and A&R development.
A Movement in Motion: In Bloom
The EP is the result of the organization’s CTRL Room Series, a collaborative space designed to empower underrepresented artists. Featuring eight rising talents, In Bloom pushes sonic and cultural boundaries, proving the impact of safe, supportive creative environments in elevating marginalized voices.
Natalie Sears, Gender Amplified’s Head of Community, reflects on the project’s significance:
“In Bloom captures the vibrant energy that emerges when women and gender-expansive artists come together to create in spaces built by and for each other. It’s an honest reckoning with the struggle, growth, and transformation our community experiences as artists navigating an industry that doesn’t always make space for us.”
A Celebration of Sound and Community
To celebrate the release, Gender Amplified will host an official listening party at Commune in Brooklyn on March 20, featuring exclusive DJ sets and a showcase of the EP’s sonic magic.

Spotlight Tracks: Elevating New Voices
One of the standout tracks, “Trick Mirror”, featuring Caro♡ and dance arts center, is a glitchy, hyper-pop anthem born from unexpected circumstances. After losing the original demo during a file transfer, Caro♡ and collaborator Nico rebuilt the track from scratch, resulting in a completely reimagined sound.
Caro♡ shares: “Having to redo everything gave me the freedom to completely revamp the aesthetic vibe, while keeping that melancholic, teen-romantic core from the initial demo.”
Another EP highlight, “Future Number”, is a soulful fusion of alt-pop and R&B, featuring Lyd Marie, virgogabrielle, and Olivia Reid. The track unfolds as a letter to one’s younger self, embracing growth and self-reflection with its ethereal melodies and airy vocals.
The Legacy of Gender Amplified
Founded in 2007 by celebrated producer, engineer, and singer-songwriter Ebonie Smith, Gender Amplified has been a driving force in reshaping the industry. Smith, known for her work on Hamilton, Janelle Monáe’s Dirty Computer, and Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, has been recognized by Forbes, The FADER, The Recording Academy, and Essence, which named her one of 13 Black women in music shaping the decade.
With In Bloom, Gender Amplified continues its mission to empower the next generation of music producers, fostering a future where inclusivity and representation define the industry.
