Editor’s Choice Miami Music Week Guide

By now you’ve probably seen our daily event guides and plenty of event listings all over the internet for Miami Music Week. Even with our event guides, there are so many options to choose from! If you need help narrowing it down to the best of the best, I got you. As somebody who is fortunate enough to be able to attend pretty much whatever parties during Music Week, I’m going to share my personal itinerary with you.

Tuesday

Tuesday is the real beginning of Miami Music Week, but for most, it’s too early to get off work, let alone get the party started. If you’re lucky enough to start on Tuesday then you should be going to Space for Rufus du Sol’s Rose Avenue showcase. It’s already sold out, but the door is always possible if you have the dough. The lineup features buzzworthy names like Colyn and Cassian alongside the legendary Rufus du Sol.

Wednesday

You might want to start the day off slow and take it easy, but if you don’t there are plenty of good options. I’d recommend the Descend Pool Party at the National featuring ALX, Cassian, Magdalena, and Mind Against. There’s also the Claptone pool party at Hyde Beach at the SLS South Beach. If you’re a bit more mainstream then check out the DJ Mag pool party featuring names like Purple Disco Machine, LP Giobbi, Dom Dolla, and more.

At night there’s no question you should be attending Afterlife at Factory Town. This is the most anticipated event outside of Ultra and it’s sold out. The production is bound to be insane, and the lineup is immaculate. You’ve got Tale of Us alongside Camelphat, Mathame, Colyn, Argy, 8Kays, Massano, Chris Avantgarde, Rebuke, and more. There’s also the grand opening for the newcomer, M2. The opening party features Morten, but a little birdy told us David Guetta is popping in to make it a full Future Rave affair. Considering Miami Beach may unfairly close all of South Beach clubs on Thursday to Sunday, this might be your only chance to check out the gorgeous new venue.

Thursday

Without a doubt, the hottest pool party on Thursday is the When Stars Align pool party featuring Camelphat, 8Kays, Massano, Oostil, and possibly even more surprising big names. If that one is sold out, the Heldeep pool party boasts some absolutely outstanding surprise sets that, alone, are worth the price of admission.

For Thursday night you should be going to Drumcode at M2, and we pray that the inept Miami Meach City Council finds some brain cells so that they don’t force M2 and other Miami Beach venues to close for no reason. If Mayor Gelber continues to be a mini-dictator who destroys good businesses and fun in South Beach, then you’ll want to go to elrow and MusicOn at Factory Town. Elrow has become a mainstay event for big weekends in Miami and the lineup this year is stacked with names like MK, Sonny Fodera, Chris Lake, Lee Foss, and Mau P. MusicOn will be taking place at the very same venue at the same time, so you can go back and forth.

Friday – Sunday

You should be at Ultra during the day. Afterward, you can’t go wrong with Factory Town or M2, both feature stacked lineups and amazing production. Let’s hope Miami Beach acts with a little bit a sense and allows the people who paid good money and behave themselves to enjoy the event of their choice.

Can’t Miss Ultra Sets

Once Friday comes it’s Ultra time. While you’re there here are some sets you cannot miss (and you’ll notice a trend here).

Friday – Juliet Fox, Eric Prydz HOLO, Charlotte de Witte, Armin van Buuren b2b Ferry Corsten

Saturday – Dom Dolla b2b Vintage Culture, Hi-LO b2b Testpilot, Fideles, Adam Beyer Cirez D, Carl Cox

Sunday – Mathame, Enrico Sangiuliano, Stephan Bodzin, Tale of Us, Swedish House Mafia,
