The legendary art car and music collective, Mayan Warrior, will take a hiatus from Burning Man in 2026. After years of hosting some of the most iconic sunrise sets in the Nevada desert, the team is shifting its full creative energy toward scaling its new camp, Discosmos.

For over a decade, The Playa has been our most cherished home. Burning Man has always been the place that inspires us to evolve, create, and reimagine what’s possible. This Year, we embrace that spirit as our journey takes on a new form. Mayan Warrior will be taking a pause from bringing the Art Car To Burning Man in 2026. While our events continue, our energy on The Playa this year Is shifting toward something equally close to our hearts: Art. This Year, you’ll find our family at our new camp, Discosmos located at 2 & J, where we are creating a space dedicated to Creativity, Art Installations & Music.

Mayan Warrior shared on social media that this hiatus is intended to allow the team to refocus on artistic development. While their wider events will continue, they are dedicating their energy at Burning Man to a new project: a space centered on creativity, art installations, and live music. For Black Rock City, this shift means the legendary sunrise DJ sets—often featuring surprise performances from major artists like Anyma—will leave a significant void for attendees to fill.
Founded by Pablo González Vargas, the Mayan Warrior debuted at Burning Man in 2011. Over the past decade, it has evolved into a multi-million-dollar mobile stage that masterfully blends ancient Mexican visual culture with modern electronic music.
Burning Man 2026 will run from Sunday, August 30, through Monday, September 7, with the iconic “Man Burn” scheduled for Saturday, September 5. While the absence of the legendary art car will be felt, attendees still have plenty to look forward to with the debut of Discosmos and other art car collectives ready to fill the void.
