UK vocalist and songwriter Becky Hill has released the accompanying music video for “Forever Young,” which was featured in The UK McDonald’s Christmas Advert.

Originally released by Alphaville in 1984, Becky Hill has made the iconic track “Forever Young” her own with a stripped back version for The UK McDonald’s Christmas advert for 2020. The performance-led official music video for Becky Hill’s “Forever Young” is directed by Andy Morgan and was shot at the Barbican in London.

The McDonald’s UK Christmas advert for 2020 features an animated tale of a mother desperately trying to encourage her teenage son to put down his screens and take part in family rituals in the run-up to Christmas.

Becky Hill is donating a percentage of all proceeds earned from the sales “Forever Young” to FareShare. While McDonald’s pledges to donate funding to enable FareShare to redistribute a further four million meals to families in need before next Easter as part of the same campaign. Together with the donation before October half term, McDonald’swill help fund the redistribution of over five million meals to those families most in need.

Says Becky Hill“Being a part of a Christmas campaign like this has been a dream of mine for a long time. The message in the McDonalds advert is one I wish I’d seen when I was a teenager; take every moment in the purest form as life changes so quickly. This Christmas, I am celebrating without two very important people in my life and this campaign has reminded me just how precious every Christmas with my nearest and dearest. To be given the chance to support other families in need with FareShare and the amazing work they do, is also an added beautiful moment for me. I feel very lucky, Merry Christmas.”

On Friday, December 4th, Becky visited a FareShare food distribution warehouse in London to help package up food parcels and discover more about the invaluable work of FareShare who provide food to 11,000 charities and community groups in the UK – the equivalent of 2 million meals a week for people who might not otherwise eat.
