Rising quartet MOSAICS deliver their striking new EP, A Guiding Lie, a vibrant and heartfelt five-track collection that unveils the band’s unique blend of emotionally resonant melodies and melancholic, observational lyrics.
Led by shimmering guitars and a sincere vocal delivery, the EP moves seamlessly from the driving, anthemic styling of “Godspeed” to the intimate, textured moments of “A Thousand Faces” and “Sing Me To Sleep.” The band showcases a versatility rooted in a blend of 90s rock and a biting indie edge. Layers of instrumentals unfurl as soaring guitars, punchy drums, lush keys, and swells of saxophone create an anthemic yet melodic wall of sound that resonates with maturity.
Reflecting on the creative process behind the project, the band shared, “A Guiding Lie, our debut EP, is a maturation of the sounds and themes we’ve been building towards for the past couple of years. It is an exploration of the isolation of modernity, the death of ambition, and the universal lies we tell ourselves and each other to make sense of an uncaring world.”
The record features an expansive, stadium-ready soundscape that transitions seamlessly into textured, shoegaze-inspired sensibilities, creating a nostalgic yet timeless vibe. By balancing personal introspection with universal themes, each track cements the band’s ever-evolving sonic identity. As they continue to build momentum with their hook-laden and mature artistry, MOSAICS are clearly on an upward trajectory.
