It’s the 80s vibe for me.

Essy is back and I couldn’t be happier. ‘Break A Heart’ is a stellar tune and Essy is definitely putting her mark on the synth pop landscape.

‘Break A Heart’ is off of her recently released sophomore EP ‘Cry For Me’.

The record is a bit of a departure from her usual lighthearted cuts, detailing the end of a relationship and highlighting themes of confidence, inner-strength, sexuality, and self-discovery. She co-wrote and produced the album alongside writers like Johnluke Lewis (LANY), using more live instrumentation (drums, sax, guitar, bass) and grittier analog synth sounds to give it a down-to-earth, moody feel.
