An unexpected turn of events has hit Marco Carola‘s event brand, Music On, this morning in Amsterdam. Just ahead of doors opening, the official pages of Music On addressed their audience. They then explained that the Amsterdam municipality had revoked the permits needed to run the festival. The festival was scheduled through this weekend, on May 9th and 10th. The schedule also included two after parties. According to local reports, the municipality revoked the festival permit due to negative safety advice regarding the tent structures. Given that the Environmental Agency determined this result, an official statement from the Amsterdam authorities is expected.
Although the festival grounds of Meerpark won’t be open, afterparties will run as normal in the Hemkade 48 venue.
Music On Festival
The festival had recruited top-notch talent selected by Carola for two days and nights of grooves and beats. Artists such as Max and Luke Dean, Alisha, Josh Baker, Luciano, Franky Rizardo, Wade, Ameme, and Dennis Cruz b2b Ilaria Alicante would’ve rocked the festival grounds. Nonetheless, the Music On By Night afterparties will run on Saturday and Sunday. Then, attendees will get to enjoy sets by Marco Carola b2b Dennis Cruz, East and Dubs, Mason Collective, and Franky Rizardo. Event organizers stated they will need some time to address questions and refunds.
