Tomorrowland still has yet to formally announce its debut event in Thailand, but officials have once again stated that it is moving forward.
Remember last year when Tomorrowland was forced to clarify that it was still weighing out whether to expand to Thailand following statements indicating that it would? Now, more of the country’s officials have reignited the conversation, suggesting that a Tomorrowland event will take place in the Southeast Asian country in 2026.
This time, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Thapanee Kiatphaibool reportedly spoke on the matter. “Tomorrowland will be hosted in Thailand for the first time in 2026,” he shared after a meeting in Bangkok with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Tomorrowland CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers, according to Travel Weekly Asia.
Thai culture will feature prominently in the event curation, according to officials. It also played a significant role in the debut of EDC Thailand, which itself moved forward in January after Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella accidentally announced it early.
“This is an opportunity to spotlight Thai artists, energise our music industry, and set a new standard for hosting global concerts in Thailand,” said Paetongtarn. “It’s a turning point in our journey to becoming a true world event destination.”
Tomorrowland has not publicly confirmed that it is organizing an event in Thailand in 2026, and spokespeople on behalf of the promoter did not immediately respond to EDM Identity’s request for comment. It bears mentioning that even if the ink has indeed dried on a deal, organizers must consider their own announcement timeline.
In March 2024, Thai Trade Representative Chai Wacharonke had said that Tomorrowland was one of several world-famous event brands coming to Thailand. Tomorrowland issued a statement clarifying that “nothing has been officially confirmed or signed” and “there is still much to be investigated.”
