Global Underground Announces Joseph Capriati as Next City Series Host

Previous hosts of the iconic mix series include Danny Tenaglia, ANNA, and Solomun, with the next installment releasing March 2025.

Global Underground and Italian legend Joseph Capriati have announced that he will be the next to contribute to the infamous City Series. Titled GU47: Montreal, the mix compilation is set for release on March 21 and marks a significant milestone in Capriati’s nearly 20-year career as a globally touring DJ and producer.

Capriati joins a stellar list of artists who have previously been a part of the series, including Danny Tenaglia, ANNA, Solomun, Joris Voorn, and Amelie Lens. His installment promises a two-disc musical journey that showcases his exceptional range and depth within house and techno.

The Bright Disc highlights Capriati’s love for house music. It features tracks from important and influential artists such as KiNK, Solomun, Louie Vega, Âme, and Fear-E. Meanwhile, the Obscure Disc delves into the vibrant techno sound that solidified Capriati’s career. With contributions from Indira Paganotto, Len Faki, Julieta Kopp, Oscar Mulero, and Capriati himself, this disc highlights a more energetic side of his work. Capriati has included a new track, titled “Meandri,” which will be featured on the compilation and released separately as a single.

Andy Horsfield, founder of Global Underground, expressed his excitement about the collaboration. “Joseph Capriati’s impact on modern dance music is undeniable,” he stated. “From his legendary sets at Amnesia to his innovative remixes for icons like Adam Beyer and Carl Cox, he’s the perfect fit for the next GU City Series. We’re proud to present GU47: Montreal, a true musical masterclass.”

The compilation will be available across multiple formats, including a deluxe CD edition, 3×12″ heavyweight colored vinyl, digital streaming, and a special limited-edition collector’s version. You can pre-order GU47: Montreal here and watch the teaser video on YouTube for a sneak peek.

Lately, Joseph Capriati is showing a completely different side of himself and where he is taking his artistry. The 37-year-old recently held Metamorfosi shows at Amnesia in Ibiza this year for the first time, and he has been crushing it b2b with Jamie Jones as part of Paradise at Amnesia.
