This five-track project serves as a definitive statement of his signature melodic progressive house sound, acting as both a reflection of his artistic evolution and a milestone in his career.
The EP features a diverse array of collaborations, including tracks with Matilda Pearl, Keelan Mak, Maver, and Beckah Amani. The project is anchored by its final, previously unheard centerpiece, “Breath,” which features fellow Australian artist jnr. This track ties together the narrative threads that ZUSO has been carefully weaving over the past year, solidifying the emotional and sonic identity of the collection.
“Breath” is built upon a foundation of shimmering synths, delicate melodies, and gradual, uplifting builds. Reflecting on the song’s development, ZUSO shared his creative process: “I started writing this song towards the end of 2024, but never quite got around to finishing it, so it sat lost on my laptop for a while. Fast forward to the start of this year and I reopened the project with fresh ears and a fresh perspective. The track came together pretty quickly from there. After going back and forth on whether it needed a vocal, I decided it did, so we reached out to jnr. to see if he’d be keen to jump on it. He loved the idea, and it quickly evolved into what it is today.”
While each single released throughout the year stood confidently on its own, the complete EP reveals a broader, more cohesive creative vision. Together, the five tracks illustrate ZUSO’s ability to weave emotionally resonant songwriting and cinematic production into a unified listening experience.
Speaking on the project as a whole, ZUSO described the EP as a deeply personal milestone: “ZUSO isn’t just a collection of songs—it’s a reflection of everything I’ve experienced, learned and felt over the past few years. I was fortunate enough to work with some incredibly talented people along the way, and each collaboration feels like its own unique chapter within this project. Producing this EP has really helped me evolve as an artist, and I feel it has set a strong foundation for the next batch of releases I’ve been working on.”
