The Nighttime Foundation has officially launched as a global non-profit dedicated to safeguarding and advancing nightlife culture worldwide. Born out of the pioneering advocacy of VibeLab, the Foundation is led by a board of experts whose mission is to empower the people who create nightlife, ensuring they have the influence to shape its future. By connecting creators, industry networks, communities, and governments across the globe, the Foundation seeks to amplify the cultural, social, and economic vitality that nightlife brings to cities everywhere.
Positioning itself as a global thought leader, the Nighttime Foundation will drive knowledge-sharing, foster collaboration, and promote best practices through pilot programs that enrich local nightlife while contributing to a collective international knowledge base. This initiative comes at a pivotal time as cities worldwide adapt to profound shifts after dark, driven by climate change, changing urban economies, and growing demand for safe, inclusive, and sustainable nighttime experiences.

The board unites influential voices from nightlife, culture, and policy, including Chair Dr. Anna-Marazuela Kim, a cultural thinker and civic visionary; Treasurer Georgia McDonnell-Adams, a strategist behind brands like Boiler Room and Absolut Vodka; and Secretary Kae Burke, co-founder of House of Yes in New York City. The Foundation’s roots trace back to the trailblazing work of Mirik Milan, former Night Mayor of Amsterdam, and Lutz Leichsenring, former spokesperson of Berlin’s Clubcommission, both co-founders of VibeLab.
The Foundation’s mission is built on three core pillars: Innovation, advancing ideas in sustainability, safety, and technology; Education, fostering leadership through mentorship, toolkits, and research; and Community, bringing nightlife stakeholders together through summits, campaigns, and immersive global events.
With backing from supporters like Weeztix, the Nighttime Foundation is calling on industry leaders, policymakers, creators, and nightlife enthusiasts to join its mission. Supporters are invited to participate in its global survey, contribute to the development of best-practice tools, and help shape a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient future for nightlife worldwide.
