The brother duo Mathame delivered on their epic BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. They played music by artists such as Bicep, Burial, and Tale Of Us. That’s in addition to some sound effects and recordings from space that build on the atmosphere.

Over recent years, electronic duo Mathame established themselves as one of the most promising rising acts. Forming in 2013, brothers Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli have progressively become an integral part of the underground electronic scene. First releasing on Vaal‘s ‘Bastaard‘ label in 2015.

Their activity arguably culminated in its peak through a release on the Tale Of Us imprint, Afterlife, in 2018. That featured tracks such ‘Nothing Around Us‘ and ‘Fade Into You‘. They recently presented ‘For Every Forever‘, cementing the reason people follow in their footsteps, and why critics praise them.

Now they present their BBC Radio 1 Essential mix. Previously, we had mixes from artists such as Sub Focus and Duke Dumont. As the host of this iconic show, Pete Tong welcomes one of the most outstanding duos of this genre.

The set features an array of deep productions combining their own tracks alongside artists such as Tale of Us or Paul Kalkbrenner. In addition, Mathame add a whole extra batch that perfectly fits the mood and story set for this mix.
