Musk told Page Six that he remains close with Grimes and considers it a partial separation. And at the same time, they both share a strong dedication to raising X Æ A-Xii, their 1-year-old son.
“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” the SpaceX Founder said to Page Six. “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”
Their relationship began in 2018 and X Æ A-Xii was born about two years later, in May 2020. This past March, Grimes shared a photo of her 10-month-old holding one of her instruments, stating that he already makes music (Mixmag).
Before Musk’s and Grimes’ decision to separate, they previously attended the Met Gala together. But the Canadian Musician appeared on the red carpet alone, with Musk only accompanying her inside Vogue’s popular costume event (Page Six).
After the Met Gala, he had a private party at Zero Bond, a private club in New York, before they departed together the next day (Page Six). Learn more about what Elon Musk and Grimes are up to via Twitter – find them at @elonmusk and @Grimezsz.
