Trance fans are in luck—a new supergroup has been born. Anjunabeats stars Ilan Bluestone and Maor Levi and renowned songstress Emma Hewitt have teamed up to form “a trio of epic proportions”: Elysian. They make their introduction into the world today, with a mesmerizing debut single titled ‘Moonchild.’
‘Moonchild’ is a seamless union of Bluestone and Levi’s signature “tronce” sound layered with Hewitt’s serene vocals. And it’s just a taste of what is to come. The trio have a full EP planned for release later this year and will tour together.
All three artists teased their project on Wednesday by posting a lyric video of ‘Moonchild’ on their Instagram accounts. The captions all stated the same—“A trio of epic proportions: Elysian rises this Friday.”
On Thursday, Bluestone, Levi and Hewitt shared an image of themselves with the caption, “We are Elysian.” The trio’s handle, @elysianofficial3, is already up and running and had the same two Instagram posts.
Banding together seems a natural progression for the three. Bluestone and Levi have collaborated on a handful of tracks including ‘Will We Remain?’ ‘Can You,’ and ‘The Distance,’ as well as remixes. And Bluestone recently tapped Hewitt—who has sung for big-time trance producers including Armin van Buuren—for the 138 BPM track ‘Hypnotized.’ Bluestone released it in February under his new Stoneblue alias. This will also mark Hewitt’s debut on Anjunabeats.
The three artists have not spoken much about Elysian, but it is apparent that it has been in the works for a while. Bluestone replied to a comment on the trio’s photo by tweeting, “Picture before Corona(virus).”
Elysian Then And Now
The name Elysian may be familiar to longtime Bluestone fans. Bluestone released a track called ‘Elysian’ in 2014 through Anjunabeats that feels like a journey through what it means, heaven or paradise.
‘Moonchild’ starts with a pulsating beat, slows to an atmospheric vibe that complements Hewitt’s angelic vocals, and builds to the signature Anjuna uplifting sound.
