Commemorating two decades of rowdy releases and rebellious events, renowned house and techno label Dirtybird has unveiled plans for a year-long celebration featuring new music, merch, and a global anniversary tour.
For the past 20 years, Dirtybird has cultivated an inclusive and open-minded community, creating an ecosystem that embraces the quirky personalities of its flock. Beyond music, the label has incorporated comedy, art, yoga, and more into its culture. From its traveling BBQs and DB Players Tours to full-fledged festival experiences like Campout and CampINN, Dirtybird’s events have left an indelible mark on dance music history.
This milestone follows Dirtybird’s recognition as Mixmag’s ‘Label of the Decade’ in 2017 and marks its next chapter under EMPIRE Dance. The 20th Anniversary Tour will bring Dirtybird’s signature antics to intimate venues worldwide, starting in Portland, OR on February 8. With different lineups in each city, additional stops include Miami, Denver, Seattle, and Phoenix, along with unique takeovers in their San Francisco hometown. The tour will feature Sacha Robotti, Black V Neck, Dirtybird Players, and rising Birdfeed bubblers, with more dates to be announced soon.
Fans can expect the signature oddities that define Dirtybird, from the fanciful games of Campout and CampINN to the unfiltered freedom of their early Golden Gate Park raves in San Francisco. The anniversary celebrations extend beyond events, with a packed year of new releases, including “Check My Brain” from Black V Neck, commemorative compilations, and expanded perks for Birdfeed subscribers.
The first collectible release of the 20-year celebration is the Fresh Eggs Hand Picked (Vol. 1) limited edition vinyl box set, available now. This four-vinyl compilation features 16 of Dirtybird’s greatest hits, with tracks from Claude VonStroke, FISHER, John Summit, Get Real, Sacha Robotti, Walker & Royce, VNSSA, Nala, and Nikki Nair. Many of these tracks are available on vinyl for the first time, and the set comes in a custom egg carton-themed box, including limited-edition merch, jewelry, and four vinyl coasters featuring original artwork.
