Deadmau + Kaskade’s Kx5 Project Debut BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

It’s been a year since dance music legends Deadmau5 & Kaskade announced their collaborative project Kx5. Since then they have released several hit tracks, made history playing the largest electronic music single day concert and announced a debut album. A week after their Printworks show, the duo debuted their BBC radio essential mix on February 10.

This two hour mix is available to stream now and features music from their forthcoming debut album.

It starts off with the Spencer Brown remix of ‘Escape’, and we catch the original version of the track towards the end of the mix. As we get into the set it transports listeners to a live show. They grace us with ‘Bright Lights’, ‘Eat Sleep’, ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘Pwdr Blu’ – the unreleased tracks from the Kx5 album. Those are mixed in with their pre Kx5 discography, ‘Beneath With What You Want’, ‘Faxing Berlin vs. Mercy’ and ‘I Remember’. along with dancefloor bangers from the likes of Anyma, Camelphat, Rufus Du Sol, Dom Dolla to name a few. You can find the tracklist here.

Deadmau5 and Kaskade are pioneers of the dance music industry. Their collaborations have been in the making for over a decade and a half. Their track ‘Escape’ has been a favorite here with the writers at EDMTunes, stealing the #1 spot on our year of tunes and remix list of 2022. The masterminds are set to release their new single ‘Sacrifice’ with Sofi Tukker this Friday.

Stay tuned for more Kx5 news and for now, enjoy their BBC mix!
