Ocie Elliott – ‘With the Lights Down’

If you search for Ocie Elliot on the blog, you will find quite a few posts come up, and that’s because I’m a huge fan, and I always look forward to their music. Their latest, ‘With the Lights Down’, is a warm and nostalgic single born out of a celebratory summer evening spent reuniting with friends.

“’With the Lights Down’ was written after Sierra’s last birthday, which takes place on June 21 – the summer solstice,” remembers Jon Middleton. “It was a beautiful and warm early summer evening, and we had a beach party to celebrate. It was the first time in a while where we were seeing people outside of our core friend groups. The night was magical with music, conversation, and ocean swims. The song points to the feeling left-over from the celebration: a mixture of love, happiness and gratitude.”
