Set against the backdrop of a time, whereby women have begun voicing out their collective experiences with abuse and are finally being given the platforms they rightfully deserve to be heard and listened to, the single is a burning and raw narration. Rooted in the original fairy tale which warns against the price of telling lies, the single spins the story a different way, affirming that women have always been telling the truth. Up until now, their accounts have been downplayed, discredited or even disbelieved, but Annie J’s new single highlights strongly “We’ve never lied about the Wolves”.
