Start your weekend on a high note with Charlotte Haining’s ‘Young’ in your ear. ‘Young’ is the third track to be released from the solo project Charlotte has been working on over the past 12 months.
She exudes an effortless vocal talent that is too good to ignore and everything about this song is soul-stirring.
Speaking about the track, Charlotte said:
I wrote Young on a writing trip to Stockholm last year with two of my favourite songwriting collaborators; Emelie Eriksson & Mattias Andreasson. There’s always some kind of magic in the air when the three of us are in a room together. We inevitably got into a deep conversation about love, specifically love post honeymoon phase & began to talk about the new kinds of anxiety felt beyond a certain point in a relationship. You can begin to overthink every little thing but in a single moment, when they kiss you, you are reminded of exactly where you started & the journey you are both on together. My Grandparents have always been a massive inspiration for me when it comes to epic love stories. Together since they were 16, married for 64 years & experienced a hell of a journey together. When my Grandad became ill & subsequently passed away earlier this year, I knew I had to release “Young” partly as a little nod to the love story my grandparents shared.”
