EDMTunes spent the weekend at North Coast Music Festival 2026 in Illinois, immersing ourselves in the vibrant sounds of the industry’s premier Bass, Techno, and House artists. Following a standout performance at the festival’s Shipyard stage, the genre-defying artist Zorza sat down with us to discuss her recent set, her artistic growth, and her highly anticipated debut album, Internet Niche Fame.
Internet Niche Fame is set for release on October 30th, with the second single, ‘motion sick,’ already making waves via Zorza’s own 4ever label.
A Return to Chicago
Reflecting on her time at North Coast, Zorza expressed a palpable sense of excitement. Having previously performed in the festival’s more intimate ‘Chill Dome,’ taking the stage at the larger Shipyard was a significant milestone. “It feels really good to be playing back and see a lot of repeat fans,” she noted, highlighting the connection she maintains with her audience even as her profile grows.
Defining ‘Internet Niche Fame’
The conversation naturally turned to her debut album, a project that serves as a deep dive into the modern artist’s journey. Zorza explained that the title, Internet Niche Fame, is a reflection on how digital communities have enabled her to tour globally and connect with fans in ways that were previously impossible. The chaotic, layered nature of the album cover art is intentional, mirroring the overwhelming noise of the internet and her personal quest to carve out a distinct path through that digital landscape.
“I’m haunted by the idea that I want to do something different,” she shared regarding her creative process. While her roots are firmly planted in the Hard Techno scene, the new album explores a broader sonic palette, incorporating elements of Trap and Witch House. This evolution is not about abandoning her past, but rather embracing the freedom to experiment.
Looking Ahead
Zorza emphasized that her music remains fast-paced and high-energy, but with a newfound emotional depth. By drawing inspiration from the melancholic textures of 2012-era Witch House, she has created a sound that balances euphoria with introspection. As she prepares for the release of her next single, ‘motion sick,’ and continues to develop her 4ever label, it is clear that Zorza is an artist hitting her stride.
