Awakenings is continuing its international expansion with a new destination for its EXO concept. The Dutch techno institution will bring Awakenings EXO to Bogotá, Colombia on December 4th, 2026, marking the latest move beyond its European home.
Set to take place at Coliseo MedPlus, Awakenings EXO Colombia is scheduled to run non-stop from 5 PM until 5 AM. The event’s lineup and ticket information have yet to be announced, leaving much to be revealed.
The EXO Journey: From New York to Bogotá
For over two decades, Awakenings has established itself as one of the most recognizable names in techno with a string of launches beyond its flagship festival in the Netherlands. In 2025, the concept made headlines with its expansion into the United States and an event at The Brooklyn Mirage. Instead of recreating the festival exactly as it exists in the Netherlands, the format flexed its ability to adapt to any venue and host city.
The upcoming Bogotá edition continues this approach. Colombia provides an entirely new setting in which Awakenings can satisfy the global appetite for electronic music.
Meanwhile, the brand’s upcoming calendar focuses on ADE — Amsterdam Dance Event — scheduled for October 21-25 at SugarFactory. Awakenings first relocated to the venue for ADE 2025, and individual events this year will be built around artists and concepts, including Adam Beyer (via Drumcode), Joris Voorn, Adriatique, and Prophecy.
A Big Year for Colombia’s EDM Scene
This announcement comes off the heels of Baum Festival, a Bogotá event in its 11th edition that reportedly drew over 50,000 attendees. The bill included Nina Kraviz, Elderbrook, Mall Grab, and Joseph Capriati, with Disclosure and Underworld claiming the headlining slots.
Awakenings EXO’s arrival feels like a natural next step for the brand and Colombia’s existing EDM infrastructure.
