Reflecting on the creative process behind the song, the trio shared, “Sometimes being too close to someone prevents any real conversations or growth from happening, leading relationships to an impasse, stunted by stubbornness and too much shared experience. Sometimes, the best thing to do is find a way to accept their flaws and imperfections for exactly who they are and try to love them anyway, despite the hit to your pride in perhaps having to falsely admit you are wrong just to keep the relationship stronger in the long run. The song is an attempt to explore the sometimes-messy dynamics of deeply personal relationships.”
