Shaping Her Own Universe: An Exclusive Interview with ROXIE

ROXIE is a French producer and DJ currently navigating an evolving career, defined by her commitment to creative autonomy and a signature sound that bridges the gap between club energy and raw emotion. Entirely self-taught, she maintains full control over every facet of her work, from production and mastering to composition. Her “Peak Time Electro House” style is designed for the dancefloor, offering a sonic journey that balances melodic depth with high-impact energy.

As she prepares for major festival appearances at Les Plages Électroniques and Stereoparc, ROXIE is focused on building momentum and carving out a unique space in the electronic music scene. We sat down with her to discuss her artistic evolution, the challenges of building a career on one’s own terms, and her vision for the future.

The Turning Point

For many artists, the path to professional music production is rarely linear. For ROXIE, the most significant shift in her career is happening right now. “Until recently, I was working as a sports coach while building my music project on the side,” she explains. “For years, I dedicated my days to my job and my evenings to music, producing tracks, learning, and performing whenever I could.” Despite skepticism from those around her who questioned the viability of a music career, she remained steadfast. Today, she is fully committed to her passion, marking the beginning of a new, definitive chapter.

Defining the ROXIE Sound

Developing a signature identity is a hallmark of any successful producer. ROXIE describes her sound as “EDM with a little more punch.” She notes, “I’ve always been drawn to the emotional and melodic side of EDM, but also to the energy of festival mainstages. When I’m producing, I always look for the same balance: energy, emotion, and accessibility. I want my tracks to feel powerful enough for a festival stage, while still being melodic and memorable enough for people to connect with them instantly.”

Visual Storytelling and Artistic Legacy

Beyond the music, ROXIE places a heavy emphasis on visual storytelling. When asked what her videos reveal about her, she points to her multifaceted nature: “If you turned the audio off, you would probably see someone who loves being behind the camera just as much as being on stage. My videos reflect my personality: determined, expressive, energetic, and always looking for new ways to connect with people.”

Looking toward the long-term, ROXIE hopes to leave a legacy that empowers others to forge their own paths. “I want the ROXIE project to show that you don’t need to follow a traditional path to build something meaningful,” she says. “I hope this inspires others to back their ideas and trust their own creativity. Ultimately, I want to prove that women can be producers, songwriters, DJs, and creative leaders all at once.”

Advice for the Next Generation

Reflecting on her early days, ROXIE offers a piece of advice that many aspiring artists need to hear: stop waiting for perfection. “I would tell her not to wait for perfection. I’ve learned that growth comes from creating, releasing, and learning along the way. Every track, video, and project has taught me something new. At the end of the day, you learn by putting your art out into the world, not by keeping it in your hard drive.”

As she looks ahead to the remainder of the festival season and beyond, ROXIE remains focused on growth, connection, and the pursuit of an authentic artistic vision. Her journey serves as a reminder that with enough dedication, one can indeed shape their own universe.
