Just as Pacha New York prepares to open, replacing the Brooklyn Mirage, the local scene is hit with more significant news. Brooklyn Storehouse, the venue that successfully filled the void when the Brooklyn Mirage faced operational challenges last summer, has announced it will be closing its doors this fall.
The venue took to social media to share the announcement, clarifying that the project was always intended to be a temporary venture until the site’s future development was finalized. The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) has now confirmed plans for the site, which will be repurposed to support climate infrastructure and clean energy production.
Brooklyn Storehouse will host its final events during a closing celebration this Halloween. Fortunately, New Yorkers will have the remainder of the summer to enjoy the venue alongside the debut of Pacha New York before the site transitions to its new purpose.
