Rising electronic music talents Atsou and Marc Gonen have officially joined forces for their collaborative debut EP, Let’s Celebrate, released via Madorasindahouse. The project masterfully bridges deep Afro-house sensibilities with modern, vibey house production, offering listeners two distinct moods within a cohesive sonic landscape.
The EP is anchored by its focus track, “Let It Happen,” a sun-drenched reinterpretation of the 1973 classic by the legendary, Oscar-winning composer Vangelis. By merging the cinematic legacy of the original composition with a contemporary, playful house aesthetic, the duo creates a bridge between musical eras. This release arrives at a pivotal moment, as Vangelis’ work continues to see a resurgence in global popularity, including a featured spot on an upcoming Grand Theft Auto soundtrack curated by DJ Harvey.
On the flip side, the EP’s second track, “Celebrate,” shifts the tone toward a more brooding and textural palette. The production unfolds with patience, utilizing long, drawn-out chord progressions and whimsical piano refrains. Staccato string accents introduce a layer of tension and elegance, resulting in an immersive, hypnotic piece that serves as a perfect, introspective counterpoint to the lead track.
Atsou, an Athens-based producer and co-owner of Madorasindahouse Records, continues to be a vital force in the global electronic music scene. His signature sound—a blend of Afro rhythms and deep, melodic textures—has earned him a reputation that spans from Burning Man to major international stages. He is currently developing his debut artist album, which promises to further explore his evolving global influences.
Marc Gonen, based in Istanbul, has rapidly ascended as one of the most exciting names in the industry. Following the success of his breakout track “Wrong,” which received significant backing from the Keinemusik crew, Gonen has built a formidable catalog on labels such as Siamese and Sapiens. With support from industry heavyweights like Adriatique, Âme, and Dixon, he continues to solidify his presence as a producer and performer of note.
