Soundcheck to Close Its Doors in January 2026

Washington DC venue Soundcheck announced that it will officially close its doors in January with a series of Last Call shows to celebrate its decade-long run.

The festival nightlife scene has been severely impacted in recent years, with numerous events being canceled and nightclubs closing their doors. Washington DC’s Soundcheck is the latest to announce that it will be saying goodbye to the scene after taking to its social media channels earlier today with the news that it’s closing its doors in January 2026.

The venue, which sits at 1420 K Street NW, has become a staple for many in the Washington DC community over the past decade. Its first five years were defined by Club GLOW‘s influence and leadership, while the latter five marked a new era after Insomniac acquired the venue in a deal alongside Echostage. Soundcheck notably reached as high as 53rd in DJ Mag’s Top 100 clubs ranking in 2024, while slipping to 57th in the latest poll.

Major artists and rising stars alike have swung by Soundcheck during their North American tours. The past few months alone have featured icons like Wilkinson, Showtek, Da Tweekaz, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Cosmic Gate, and Héctor Oaks. Additionally, Insomniac’s brands, such as Bassrush, Basscon, and Dreamstate, all regularly hosted shows at the venue.

That doesn’t mean that the venue will go out without a bang. Soundcheck plans to host a Last Call show series that will help mark its final weeks of operation in December and January. “Over the next few months, we celebrate every fan, staff member, and artist whose passion has helped us push DC’s dance music community forward,” reads the statement posted to the venue’s social media channels.

As of publishing, the only shows that have been announced during the venue’s final months include those featuring Eliminate, In Parallel, Ian Asher, and Sistek in December, and Ninajirachi in January. Additional performances are anticipated to be announced in the coming weeks as the venue prepares to close its doors.

We can’t wait to dance, celebrate, and make these final months some of the most special yet. The energy, the music, the family we’ve built; it’s all evolving into something bigger.
