The Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation has announced a landmark partnership with Amsterdam 750, joining forces to celebrate the city’s 750th anniversary with an unprecedented program of music, culture, and community. Taking place October 22–26, 2025, ADE will seamlessly transition into the city’s official birthday celebrations on October 27, creating a cultural bridge between two milestones that honor Amsterdam’s global influence in music and creativity.
Through ADE Arts & Culture x 750, audiences will experience a week of immersive showcases across Amsterdam’s most iconic venues. Highlights include opening performances at ARTIS Planetarium by synth pioneer Suzanne Ciani and visual artist Julius Horsthuis with Rival Consoles; Suriname Rising – 50 Years of Freedom in Music at Concertgebouw; the 39.5-hour ambient marathon ZERØBPM at Thomaskerk; and a deep dive into Chinese club culture at Wereldmuseum Amsterdam. The celebrations culminate on October 27—Amsterdam’s official 750th birthday—with Young Marco, Legowelt, and Mary Lake reimagining live ambient sessions at Concertgebouw in a special tribute to the city.
The collaborative spirit continues through ADE Friends x 750, a citywide program of nearly 130 locations offering free-to-access events ranging from vinyl marathons and in-store DJ sets to sports and lifestyle activations, making the anniversary a celebration for all of Amsterdam.
“We are delighted that ADE and their vibrant Friends network celebrate along as we near the end of an unforgettable anniversary year and the city’s actual 750th birthday,” says Sietse Bakker, director of Amsterdam 750.
The jubilee year of Amsterdam 750 launched in October 2024 and has since brought over 400 cultural events, exhibitions, and community activities across the city, all leading to the official birthday on October 27, 2025. The anniversary will close with the National Celebration of Amsterdam 750 Years, broadcast live on NPO 1, featuring performances by Dutch artists paying tribute to the capital.
The full ADE 2025 program will be revealed in the coming weeks, with individual tickets and ADE Pro Passes available via the official website.
