According to the Licking County Sheriffs, 34-year-old James Phromphanh and an unnamed 27-year-old man died after attending Lost Lands over the weekend.

Two men died after attending the 2024 edition of Lost Lands at Legend Valley in Ohio, according to the Licking County Sheriffs. Neither incident is connected to the arrest of a man who allegedly ran over tents in the vendor campgrounds with his car, injuring two in the process.

One of the deceased is 34-year-old James Phromphanh of Texas, who fell ill near the main stage on Saturday and died after being taken to Licking Memorial Health. The other has yet to be identified, but they were 27 years old, hailed from Columbus, and also passed away after being hospitalized.

A GoFundMe has been launched to help cover the costs associated with transporting Phromphanh’s body back to Texas. It has currently amassed almost $5,500 of its $13,000 goal.

“Our sweet James passed away unexpectedly and has left a huge hole in our hearts,” reads the description. “He was a funny, witty, and loving person. If anyone knew him, they knew his love for video games and anime. He was an amazing person to his friends and family, and he will be missed dearly.”

“We can confirm that two fatalities occurred at the event in separate incidents,” reads a statement sent to EDM Identity by Lost Lands’ organizers. “Each individual received treatment on-site before being transported to the nearest hospital. Causes of death for both incidents are currently unknown.”

It continues: “We are working closely with local authorities to aid in their investigations. At this time we have no further information to share publicly.”

We here at EDM Identity offer our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of those who passed away at Lost Lands during what can only be a difficult time.
