Another DJ, another wedding and this time it’s Calvin Harris! The Scottish producer tied the knot with BBC Radio 1 host and girlfriend, Vick Hope. The couple had begun dating early last year as well. Then, they got engaged last spring where the public saw her Emerald-cut diamond engagement ring in May 2022 at the Chelsea Flower Show in London. According to news outlets, the proposal took place under a tree at Harris’s estate in Ibiza. The precious moment came after previous rejections by Hope to the DJ for years. Now, they wed in northeast England, and their wedding reception was held in a decorated tent of greens and florals on the grounds of Hulne Priory, Alnwick Northumberland. We can be sure it was a beautiful outdoor ceremony.
Nile Rodgers and his band Chic flew there from the US to perform for guests at their Glastonbury Festival-esque after-party. Those included BBC radio DJs Scott Mills, Vernon Kay, Jordan North, and AJ Odudu. The band performed ‘Never Too Much’ by Luther Vandross and hits by David Bowie, Beyonce, and Madonna. They closed their set with ‘Good Times’, very appropriate.
Now, the couple have kept their life private and seem to continue to do so. In fact, when asked if they had set a wedding date by Hello! Magazine, Hope offered that the information is private. And with good reason. Being in a relationship with the number one running DJ/producer throughout our prime time EDM years is a big thing. Calvin has previously dated Taylor Swift, Aarika Wolf, and Rita Ora.
“For the first time in a long time, I’m finishing work and going home to a life that is just mine. I’m learning to find balance and peace.
I was very overwhelmed by the interest in it, but I’m keeping my private life private. I’ve never really experienced this before about my private life, but it’s just for us.”
Vick Hope, to E! News and Hello! Magazine
Hope did remain out of the public’s eye with her romance and kept her truth. But a little Instagram posting never hurt anyone. She shared a series of photos of her and Calvin from the BBC Radio 1 dance weekend in Ibiza in July. The couple shared a warm embrace, posing in a group photo with friends. The public loves them together and now they’re together eternally. Harris’s Ibiza residency has also come to an end, only to meet with a new beginning. What’s more, ‘Desire‘ just dropped with Sam Smith and follows the successful release of his ‘Miracle‘ track with Ellie Goulding.
Will we see baby news in the future? Congratulations to the lovely couple, and we hope to see Harris on some lineups soon too!
