ZHU and Bob Moses Finally Team Up On 'Desire'

ZHU is presenting us with another track this year, this time with the illustrious Bob Moses on ‘Desire.’ Putting the artists together on this project, they created a track with distinct features being highlighted from each. This follows the releases of the original, ‘Only‘ with Tinashe, and his remix of her song with Ms Banks‘ ‘Die A Little Bit.’ Speaking on the track and the meaning behind it, Jimmy Valance from Bob Moses had something to say.

“Desire can become quite destructive if you’re not self-aware. With this record, we’re trying to be self-aware by looking at our own desires and reckoning with them.
Stories about desire are timeless: Icarus flying too close to the sun and ending up falling to his death…that idea inspired the falling man on the album cover. That symbolized to us how desire can lead to a downfall.”

Desire

Opening up, the track starts with drowning synth plucks into the vocals by Bob Moses creating a ghostly feel. From that point on, the bridge introduces the central chant which hones into the meaning behind the track. ‘Desire’ then plunges into a brooding, bass-filled instrumental with synths resonating above. Through and through, both artists maintain their distinct touches on the track while emphasizing each others’ sound.

On that note, listen to ZHU and Bob Moses merge on their collaboration, ‘Desire.’
