Mixcloud Live: Copyright Claim Free Streaming

As artists try to fill the void of touring by streaming online, Mixcloud now offers their solution as well. The platform announced a new feature that allows for their PRO members to live stream sets through Mixcloud. This new feature is currently in beta so there may be some minor bugs. Despite that, Mixcloud Live can be used seamlessly with any streaming software such as OBS, Wirecast, and etc.

The appeal to utilize Mixcloud Live is that tracks used are all licensed by Mixcloud. Therefore, streaming artists wouldn’t have to fear facing any copyright claims. The take down of streams due to copyright may be a growing issue as more and more artists turn to doing virtual sets. In addition, the ability to archive audio from the live streams will be available as a feature soon.

Co-founder Nico Perez states:

“We hope that Mixcloud LIVE brings a little more fun – and maybe some dancing – into your home. Particularly at this time when the world is socially distant, and we all need to feel a bit closer. In addition, we are very focused on helping creators generate more income directly from their fans via their live streams”

Mixcloud Pro is currently available for a 90 day free trial and then the subscription will cost $15/month afterward.
