Steve Aoki Pledges Net Proceeds of new Linkin Park Remix to Chester Bennington's Fund

On July 20, 2017, tragedy struck the music world when one the most influential and talented artists this generation passed on. Chester Bennington, the lead singer Linkin Park was taken from this world far too early, in what can only be described as one the most heartbreaking incidents in modern music. Bennington helped elevate Linkin Park from a niche nu-metal band to one the biggest rock acts all time. Linkin Park has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, won multiple Grammy awards, and their debut album “Hybrid Theory” is the best-selling debut album the 21st century. There is no doubt Chester’s work inspired many music’s biggest stars, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations fans and artists alike.

Prominent dance music star Steve Aoki was fortunate enough to collaborate with the band multiple times including the 2013 track “Light That Never Comes” and some vocal features. Steve Aoki and Chester were good friends and Steve Aoki stated Chester was “his hero”. After his death Aoki posted this statement about Bennington on his Instagram:

In honor his late friend, Steve Aoki released a tribute remix/mashup track titled “Darker Than the Light That Never Bleeds (Chester Forever Steve Aoki Remix)“. The track is a mashup and remix two songs the band and Aoki collaborated on.

Not only did he create a touching tribute track to his hero, he is also pledging sales the track to Chester’s One More Light Memorial Fund.

Everyone go out and support Steve Aoki’s new track. It’s an excellent remix and goes towards a wonderful cause.
