After a battle with local officials, Electric Forest finally made the tough decision we all knew was coming. As of April 21, 2020, Electric Forest is officially cancelled. Before anything else, there has been no confirmation on new dates yet.
“After weeks of discussions, input and direction from state and local authorities, and with a full focus on the safety of our community, we have made the decision to look ahead and reunite in 2021.” -Electric Forest
Thankfully, they gave fans two options. They can retain their wristband(s) and lodging passes for the 2021 edition, or they can request full refunds including fees. Pass holders will be receiving an email about refund and retainment options. They will have up until May 21st, 2020 to make a decision on retaining of requesting a refund. Deciding nothing will result in festival pass retainment Here’s how the rest works.
Official Wristband Exchange
The Official Wristband Exchange will remain open for those who retain their 2020 purchase for 2021. It will also remain open for those looking for any specific Wristband or Lodging Package type for Electric Forest 2021. If fans previously purchased for 2020 using the Wristband Exchange, they are eligible for a refund or for the opportunity to retain their Wristband for use in 2021.
Transfers/Exchanges/Deadlines
All 2020 Wristband & Lodging Package purchasers will have until May 21, 2020 to decide to either retain their order for Electric Forest 2021 or request a refund for 2020.
2020 Wristband & Lodging Package orders won’t be split. This means that if fans decide to refund, ALL will be refunded and cancelled on the order (except merchandise).
For those choosing to retain orders for 2021, your order will remain the exact same as when originally purchased. There will be NO transfers or exchanges.
Refunds
If fans choose to request a refund, allow 30 days for the request to process. Refunds will only be issued on the card used at the time of purchase. Again, merchandise is not refundable. Event Insurance purchases are non-refundable.
Loyalty Program
Unfortunately, fans in the Loyalty Program will not be able to purchase 2021 passes with their benefits, if they purchased 2020 passes. Additionally, your loyalty status will remain the same until the 2021 pass is registered.
Group Camping/Shuttles/Lockers/Fanstaff
2020 Group Campers have two options – retain Group Camping Passes for 2021, or submit for a refund (including fees). Group Camp Leaders must be ready to designate somebody else in the group as the Leader so the group is not dissolved.
2020 Shuttle Purchases will be automatically refunded. Shuttle pass holders can reach out directly to [email protected] with any issues.
2020 Locker Purchases will be automatically refunded.
Finally, Work Exchange Team FanStaff who were accepted for Electric Forest 2020 will be automatically issued no-fee cancellations. Those already accepted to the FanStaff program at Electric Forest 2020 will receive an email with details.
Unfortunately, we all saw this coming. 2020 and the coronavirus takes another victim. Hopefully, this will all die down by next year and we can reuinte at Electric Forest. Read the full announcement here.
