Meek Mill season is in full swing. Following the release his Wins & Losses album, the MMG spitter pulled up to DJ Clue’s Desert Storm Radio for an interview and a freestyle. For this one, Meek spit over DG Yola’s “Ain’t Gon’ Let Up” instrumental. Check it out below.
Floating over the light instrumental, Meek flexes as he let’s the rap game know just how far they have to climb to reach his level. He barely even takes a breath between bars.
“Timing is money and money is time/Hustle like I’m bout to run out time/Step to a chump in the front the line/Get on my level I been in the mix/Blue on Rick ‘Rari like Optimus Prime/Most these niggas be popping these pills/Don’t know what they talking, they out they mind,” Meek Milly spits during the freestyle.
Meek says his newest album is about reflecting life as it actually is, and if you’ve lived long enough, you already know you’re bound to take your fair share wins and losses. With that in mind, Meek’s been pretty reflective lately, and recently admitted he was “moving wrong” when he came at Drake—who was at one point his friend and collaborator—two years ago.
“I was out control at that point, the way I was coming at everybody,” said Meek during a recent interview on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning. “I fended a lot people at that point… I think I could have approached things better, but it is what it is.”
Meek might say he’s got some regrets about how he’s handled beef in the past, but more than a few people think he might have dissed Drizzy on his new song, “1942 Flows.” But that’s literally whole ‘nother story.
