Made this song during quarantine with writer/producer group LionChld (Britney Spears, Bebe Rexha, Kiana Lede) and the whole process was a dream. I was super nervous as it is one of the most vulnerable songs I’ve co-written, but it ended up being such a cathartic experience. The song is the first single off an upcoming EP about dealing with a lover’s unfaithfulness and finding myself in the process. SALT is about that first stage of my heartbreak- the feeling of betrayal and bitterness but also recognizing that what happened was not my fault- my favorite line is in the chorus where I sing “EVERYTHING IS ALL YOUR FAULT, you’re no good for anybody” That was a really satisfying line to write and I think it perfectly describes how one can feel about someone who ruined everything.
